Le cinquième et dernier jour de la 7ème édition de AgroTour International à Arusha, en Tanzanie, a offert aux participants une expérience inoubliable, marquée par des visites guidées enrichissantes et une cérémonie de clôture festive.

1. Découverte de l’entrepreneuriat féminin avec Lightness Zawadi

La journée a débuté par une visite chez Lightness Zawadi, une entrepreneuse visionnaire à la tête de Home Fresh Tanzania Limited. Située à Kikwe, Arumeru, son entreprise est spécialisée dans l’exportation de légumes et de fruits frais. Avec une production impressionnante de 15 tonnes de légumes par semaine et l’exportation de 4 conteneurs de fruits par mois vers l’Europe, le Moyen-Orient, l’Inde, et d’autres régions, Zawadi incarne le succès dans l’agri-business. Son parcours inspirant a captivé nos agripreneurs, leur offrant des idées novatrices pour leurs propres projets.

2. Exploration de la Ferme de Justin Mungure

Ensuite, nos agriculteurs et entrepreneurs agricoles ont visité la ferme de Justin Mungure, un modèle d’innovation en Tanzanie. Non seulement il excelle dans l’agriculture et l’élevage, mais il a aussi construit une centrale hydroélectrique sur sa ferme, assurant une autonomie énergétique complète. La rencontre avec son épouse, qui a partagé leur histoire de succès, a ajouté une touche personnelle et motivante à la visite. Cette ferme est un véritable exemple des opportunités que l’agri-business peut offrir.

3. Rencontre avec un Jeune Agripreneur Inspirant

La troisième visite a conduit les participants à la ferme d’un jeune entrepreneur de moins de 30 ans, qui a su combiner passion et innovation dans l’agriculture. Ce jeune leader n’a pas seulement cultivé des cultures prospères à Arusha, mais il a également semé des graines d’inspiration en partageant ses pratiques agricoles durables. Son enthousiasme et son engagement ont résonné auprès des agripreneurs présents, les motivant à explorer de nouvelles avenues dans leurs propres activités.

4. L’Ingéniosité au Service de l’Agriculture

La journée s’est poursuivie avec une autre visite chez Justin Mungure, cette fois dans son atelier de conception de machines pour la transformation des produits agricoles. Cet ingénieur autodidacte, sans formation académique formelle, a impressionné nos participants par son génie créatif. Ses inventions offrent des solutions pratiques pour moderniser les pratiques agricoles et aider les entrepreneurs à s’adapter aux évolutions technologiques.

Cérémonie de Clôture et Soirée de Gala

La journée s’est conclue par une cérémonie de clôture mémorable lors d’une soirée de gala. Yannick Nkayilu Salomon, membre du comité d’organisation et coordinateur de Hope Land Congo Canada, a animé la soirée, tandis que James Bashonga s’est chargé de la traduction de l’événement. Pascaline Mwenge, membre du comité d’organisation et Point Focal Hope Land Congo en Haut Katanga, a adressé un message de remerciement émouvant aux participants.

Janice Kimaro, Coordinatrice Adjointe de l’événement, a prononcé le discours de clôture, marquant la fin de cette 7ème édition exceptionnelle de AgroTour International. La soirée a également été l’occasion de remettre des certificats aux participants, reconnaissant leur engagement et leur participation active tout au long de l’événement.

Un Rendez-vous pour l’Avenir

Ce cinquième jour a été l’apogée d’une semaine riche en découvertes, en apprentissages, et en connexions. The fifth and final day of the 7th edition of AgroTour International in Arusha, Tanzania, offered participants an unforgettable experience, marked by enriching guided tours and a festive closing ceremony.

Inspiring Guided Tours

1. Discovering Women’s entrepreneurship with Lightness Zawadi

The day began with a visit to Lightness Zawadi, a visionary entrepreneur at the helm of Home Fresh Tanzania Limited. Located in Kikwe, Arumeru, her company specializes in the export of fresh fruit and vegetables. With an impressive production of 15 tons of vegetables per week and exporting 4 containers of fruit per month to Europe, the Middle East, India and other regions, Zawadi embodies success in agri-business. Her inspiring story captivated our agripreneurs, offering them innovative ideas for their own projects.

2. Exploring Justin Mungure’s farm

Next, our farmers and agripreneurs visited Justin Mungure’s farm, a model of innovation in Tanzania. Not only does he excel in farming and animal husbandry, but he has also built a hydroelectric plant on his farm, ensuring complete energy self-sufficiency. Meeting his wife, who shared their success story, added a personal and motivating touch to the visit. This farm is a true example of the opportunities that agri-business can offer.

3. Meet an Inspiring Young Agripreneur

The third visit took participants to the farm of a young entrepreneur under the age of 30, who has combined passion and innovation in agriculture. This young leader has not only grown successful crops in Arusha, but has also sown seeds of inspiration by sharing his sustainable farming practices. His enthusiasm and commitment resonated with the agripreneurs in attendance, motivating them to explore new avenues in their own businesses.

4. Ingenuity at the service of agriculture

The day continued with another visit to Justin Mungure, this time to his workshop where he designs machines for processing agricultural products. This self-taught engineer, with no formal academic training, impressed our participants with his creative genius. His inventions offer practical solutions for modernizing farming practices and helping entrepreneurs adapt to technological change.

Closing Ceremony and Gala Evening

The day concluded with a memorable closing ceremony and gala evening. Yannick Nkayilu Salomon, member of the organizing committee and coordinator of Hope Land Congo Canada, hosted the evening, while James Bashonga was in charge of translation. Pascaline Mwenge, member of the organizing committee and Hope Land Congo Focal Point in Haut Katanga, addressed a moving message of thanks to the participants.

Janice Kimaro, Deputy Event Coordinator, gave the closing speech, marking the end of this exceptional 7th edition of AgroTour International. The evening also saw the presentation of certificates to participants, in recognition of their commitment and active participation throughout the event.

A rendezvous for the future

This fifth day was the culmination of a week rich in discovery, learning and connections. Participants left with new ideas, valuable contacts, and renewed inspiration to take their agricultural projects forward.
